The assembly is seen an important part of ongoing planning and discernment for the future. Its purpose is to discern a way forward with the people and parishes so that they can effectively meet the challenges facing the diocese in the near future.

Fr Fintan Monahan is currently diocesan secretary in the archdiocese of Tuam and a member of the Communications Council of the Irish Episcopal Conference.
