The 2017 concert sees the world premiere of ‘Beautiful Things’, an original composition by acclaimed Celtic harper Cormac de Barra of Dublin, which commemorates the apparition of Our Lady in Knock in 1879.

Born in Co. Tyrone to a poor farming family on 24 June 1797, John Joseph Hughes grew up to become the leading cleric of his day in the United States.

Archbishop of Boston, Cardinal Seán O’Malley and the Mayor of Boston, Martin Walsh, to attend Knock Basilica re-dedication ceremony on 16 July.
