For the seventh consecutive year, CAB Motor Group has donated a car as the first prize in the Society of St Vincent De Paul’s (SVP) annual Christmas raffle in Cork. Over the years, more than one million euro has been raised as a result of this recurring fundraiser.
All money raised through the draw will be used to help local people in need at Christmas and during the cold winter months ahead. Last year, SVP Cork was able to help over 5,000 families.
Throughout the year, SVP’s goal is to fight poverty in all its forms by offering direct, personal assistance that is non-judgemental and based on the need of the individual or family. The society also provides a wide range of services for vulnerable people through local offices, shops, resource centres, housing, daycare and holiday schemes, among other things.
The winner of this year’s car is Eoin Duggan from Ballincollig, with runners-up from around County Cork receiving cash prizes from €500-€1,500.
SVP’s South West Regional Vice President, Paddy O’Flynn, along with Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. Fergal Dennehy, and Conor Cavanagh, Dealer Principal of CAB Motors, supervised the draw.
