The Diocese of Killaloe is currently producing a DVD which aims to make parishioners proud of their parish.
According to the Killaloe’s Justice, Peace and Care of Creation Committee, ‘’the Diocese of Killaloe is home to some of the most beautiful views, extraordinary vistas and areas of breath taking natural beauty.”
“Such areas include McNamara’s Lake near O’Briens Bridge, to the Falls of Doonas and many others.”
Pope Francis told us in his message for the World Day of Peace that “The human family has received from the Creator a common gift: nature. This is a gift to be rejoiced in, to be experienced as a shared treasure to be enjoyed. With these thoughts in mind the Killaloe Diocese Justice, Peace and Care of creation Committee is delighted to launch a new initiative which hopes to celebrate the great beauty of our resplendent diocese, but they need your help.”
According to committee member Fr Ger Fitzgerald, “We wish to release a DVD which will capture through photos, music, reflection, prayer and poetry the singular radiance of the diocese of Killaloe.”
“This is a project which hopes to celebrate beauty but also which hopes to instil within each one of us a sense of pride in your own parish.”
“Therefore, our invitation to you is simple. Our invitation to you is to ‘Be Proud of Your Parish’. That is the name of this project.”
“‘Be Proud of Your Parish’ and get out and about and photograph it, in all its beauty. Be proud of where you are from, of your parish which is home to you and share that joy and beauty with the whole diocese’’.
Photos may be submitted to Fr Gerard Fitzgerald at fitz.ger@gmail.com by November of this year or as soon as possible.
The project is open to people of all ages and faiths. It is hoped the DVD will be launched before Christmas.
