In one week’s time, 6–8 December, the Youth2000 Christmas Retreat in Newbridge College, Kildare, will be taking place.
An annual rejuvenation of faith for hundreds of young Catholics across Ireland, the Christmas Retreat will be packed full of talks, with top Catholic lay and religious speakers, workshops, time to hang out, music, prayer, sacraments and more.
Keynote speakers are Fr Conor McDonough, a Dominican priest from Galway based in Dublin who studied science in Cambridge and theology in Ireland and Rome, and Fr René Zambrana, a Home of the Mother priest from the US. Members of his order have been known to performs acts such as juggling fire and handstands at previous retreats.
Anyone between the ages of 16 and 35 is welcome and can register by clicking here. If you fall outside of this age bracket, it is highly recommended that you invite a young person to this faith-filled, festive and enjoyable weekend. Past attendees have gone on to be leaders among their friends, families and communities, having received formation and encouragement from one of the Youth2000 retreats.
Free buses from all over Ireland can be booked. To see the routes and book a space in advance to avoid disappointment, click here.
This year, registration for the Christmas Retreat is 25 per cent higher than last year and the demand for the free buses has equally increased. Attendance is donation only. Donations can be made at youth2000.ie or at the door.
