The renowned teacher of Christian meditation, Fr Laurence Freeman, is visiting Dublin later this month to deliver a keynote lecture on the need for new consciousness in a globalised world.
The talk is part of the Emmaus Retreat Centre’s International Speakers Series.
The Benedictine monk, who is director of the World Community for Christian Meditation, will share his perspective on the spiritual dimensions of the current global crisis.
Fr Laurence is the author of ‘Jesus: The Teacher Within’, ‘Light Within’, ‘First Sight’ and other books.
He travels widely to share Christian teaching on meditation and dialogue with secular institutions, including education, medicine and business.
The Benedictine is active in inter-religious dialogue and has conducted peace initiatives such as the historic ‘Way of Peace’ with the Dalai Lama.
He believes in the re-appropriation of the contemplative wisdom tradition in the Church and society at large.
In 1991, Fr Laurence established the International Centre of the newly formed World Community for Christian Meditation that is now present in more than a hundred countries.
He is the Director of the WCCM Benedictine Oblate Community.
The lecture by Fr Freeman will take place on 26 March. Further information: www.emmauscentre.ie
