A three-day conference on the theme of liturgy, family and life and faith formation is to take place in Kilkenny in September as part of the Year of Faith.
Organised by the Catholic Voice newspaper, this three-day event from 13 – 15 September will be opened with a special Mass by Bishop Seamus Freeman of Ossory.
Other speakers include, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin; Irish Times columnist John Waters; former MEP and Pro Life campaigner Dana Rosemary Scannell; the Catholic Grandparents Association founder Catherine Wiley; priest and scholar Fr Peter Stravinskas; former MEP Kathy Sinnot, and entrepreneur and founder of Libertas, Declan Ganley.
Six speakers a day will address the ‘Faith of our Fathers’ conference while over 60 different exhibitors will showcase Catholic services and products.
The themes of the conference, in addition to those on the liturgy, family and life and faith formation, are Marian shrines, catechism, Eucharistic miracles and Catholic education.
Announcing the event, conference organiser Anthony Murphy said, “We have been delighted with the range and variety of people, groups and organisations who have signed up to speak, give workshops and exhibit at Faith of Our Fathers 2013.”
“The strong response is a sign that people are looking for an injection of fresh energy, enthusiasm and skills for engaging in evangelisation and we’re working hard to ensure that this conference will provide all of that and more.”
The conference takes place at the Hub at Cillin Hill in Kilkenny. For more information: Catholic Voice (059 8627268) or Faith of Our Fathers (087 6723410).
