Saturday of the Third Week of Advent 20-12-14
Gospel: Luke 2.38
Here am I the servant of the Lord,
let it be done to me according to your word.
Reflection: Goal in Life
The goal in our lives gives us a purpose and a meaning in life. Without it, we are lost.
We get lost in its confusion, distractions and emptiness.
Mary had a big and generous goal in life
after the visit from the angel:
her whole -life would now be directed
towards the birth and mission of her son.
This would bring her alive and give energy to her body and soul.
We admire a person with a big goal in life, especially, when that goal and purposebrings life and care to others.
Many have been educated,
brought back to health,
cared for in old age
because of the dedication of people
who were servants of the Lord
in their service of others.
Prayer:
Call me in your love, Lord God,
call me into the service of your people and church,
for I am your servant and will do your word.
Please offer a prayer today for :
Young people trying to decide how best to spend their lives.
People hoping to change direction in the lives.
Older people who are about to retire and need new challenges
